The SkyBell is compatible with Hardwired Doorbells; homes that are not equipped with a Hardwired Doorbell are fitted with a Ring 2 and Ring Chime.
With new smart devices, there may be an issue that you don’t know how to diagnose. A lot of smart devices, like the SkyBell, speak a language of their own. In order to understand what your SkyBell Video Doorbell may be trying to tell you, we’ve put together some information for better understanding:
4 Codes and 5 Colors
The SkyBell’s is able to produce four types of solid or flashing LED patterns: Solid (does NOT blink, but remains illuminated) Flash, Rapid Flash, and Alternating Color Flashes.
The five colors that the SkyBell is capable of emitting are Green, Yellow, Orange, Red, White and Blue. With that said, there are many combinations of colors and flash styles, what do they mean? We’ll explain the type of flash, and what that color means.
Green: Ready/working normally. (Change this color in your Alarm.com account)
Yellow: Please wait while SkyBell is preparing to work/Starting Up
White: Call mode: activated when the button is pressed, the motion sensor is activated, or user is Watching Live from their account. The color will change back to the Default/Custom color when the call has ended.
Blue Green: Connecting to Wi-Fi/Waiting for Server Connection
Blue and Red: Battery is Charging
Blue and Yellow: Firmware Update
Rapid Flash (Requires Attention):
Troubleshooting Technique: Hold down the button until the SkyBell flashes Green to enter Troubleshooting Mode.
Green: you have entered Troubleshooting Mode – Continue to hold to access other entry modes.
Green and Red: Wi-Fi Access point. Use the temporary network and then re-add the camera in the app.
Blue: Power Cycle. Release to Reboot the Camera
Yellow: Factory Reset Mode. Reset Camera and Delete all Wi-Fi and Configuration information.
